END PREP TOOL PIPE MILLING ON OIL RIGS

A heavy-duty I.D. clamping pipe milling end prep tool that can bevel, face, and bore all hard pipe alloys including stainless steel, Super Duplex, and P-91 is available from ESCO Tool of Holliston, Massachusetts.

ESCO’s PrepZilla MILLHOG® I.D. Clamping End Prep Tool has only one mandrel with eight sets of clamps for beveling, facing, and boring hard alloyed pipes from 1.5” I.D. to 8.625” O.D. Built for offshore use, this robust tool features dual-opposed tapered roller bearings, direct-drive gears, a rigid blade lock system, and TiN coated T-15 tool steel cutter blades with a proprietary chip breaker that transfers heat away from the pipe surface.

Generating 1,500 ft.-lbs. of torque at the cutting blade, ESCO’s PrepZilla MILLHOG® I.D. Clamping End Prep Tool’s blade is held by a dual-threaded screw which doubles the force on the clamping surface for added rigidity. Powered by a 2 HP air motor, this tool is supplied complete with all clamp ribs and pads, a hose and filter, lubricator, and a metal carrying case.
