A patented, welding end prep tool that is designed for beveling any angle of prep on highly alloyed water wall boiler panels and only needs a minimum 2-1/4” clearance is available from ESCO Tool of Medfield, Massachusetts.

The Esco Mongoose MILLHOG® is a right angle drive I.D. clamping end prep tool capable of performing any angle of prep on water wall boiler tubes, removing tube sheet seal welds, and facing tubes; especially in tight spaces.  Weighing just 13 lbs., this rugged tool is powered by a 2/3 HP pneumatic motor and can machine stainless steel and other highly alloyed materials.

Featuring dual-opposed tapered roller bearings with heavy duty right angle gears, a patented push-pull clamp and release mechanism, and permanently attached wrenches, the Esco Mongoose MILLHOG® can bevel tubes from 5/8” I.D. to 3” O.D.  Standard features include the EscoLock™ rigid blade lock system with TiN coated bits for chatter-free performance without cutting oils.
